- The most effective way to remove moles and gophers from your yard and garden is to trap and then set up a maintenance plan. If you commonly have moles and gophers on your property then most likely this will be a reoccurring problem. Although some people do not like the idea of trapping the moles or gopher it is a very humane and quick method in removal. The first sign at a new mole or gopher hill you should trap and remove the new animals.
- Electronic Mole and Gopher control spikes are found in most large stores. These are used by driving them into the ground near mole and gopher activity, then letting them send out a noise and wave that is said to scare off the moles and gophers. Personal experience and word of mouth with theses devises have shown that they are not very effective in the long term. More than likely you will have the same problem return with a couple months.
- Poisoning Mole and Gophers is a common thing for people to try and do, but it can be very dangerous to other animals. And they also do not seem to work as well as trapping. But if the mole or gopher does die from the poison it can cause a risk that if an animal eats the mole or gopher it can pass the poison too that animal. This could be a coyote, dog, cat, or bird that smells or comes across the dead animal.
