- Poisoning Mole and Gophers is a common thing for people to try and do, but it can be very dangerous to other animals. And they also do not seem to work as well as trapping. But if the mole or gopher does die from the poison it can cause a risk that if an animal eats the mole or gopher it can pass the poison too that animal. This could be a coyote, dog, cat, or bird that smells or comes across the dead animal.
